Well, too bad Trey! There’s going to be a lot more, so get ready!
We have made it to 6 months! What an adventure we are on. We are learning lots about Trey, his personality, his likes, his dislikes (he’s not afraid to tell you what he doesn’t like) but mainly just trying to keep him alive.
The “it’s real” moment for me didn’t come until the nurse came into the room and said “ok, you guys are clear to go, put him in the car seat and I’ll be right back”. Two humans are now three, a husband and wife are now a family (technically we always had Ammo though), and now we get to bring him home. No book to prepare you for that feeling driving home.
That all seems so far away though because things are going a lot smoother now. He’s sleeping through the night (with the exception of being sick right before Christmas, that was fun) and he is not a good napper at all; we have started on solids; finally over his colic (!!!!); and a lot more laughs now and he is one chatty little (big) guy. Our pediatrician called him a flirt, so look out ladies!
So far, this has been one of the most exhausting, rewarding, confusing, intriguing, yet oddly satisfying experiences in my life, and I can’t wait for it to continue! Sam would mostly agree.
I hope everyone has a prosperous and healthy 2017, we will talk soon!
